It’s been a while…😨☹️🤕

It’s been a while since I’ve posted, I’ve been really sick 🤒 with my migraines and ongoing stomach issues which I have now learned I have gastritis as well as abdominal migraines, while dealing with my chronic migraines too. So it’s been a rough couple of months. So the topic i would like to touch on is abdominal migraines because it’s something I’ve never heard of until now and it’s apparently very common to get if you suffer from chronic migraines. Abdominal migraines aren’t headaches they are actually a reaction to the same triggers as migraine headaches. So again you have to find what triggers your migraines and abdominal migraines. Which means they hurt a lot and cause a lot of stomach cramps and pain.

Major Abdominal Migraine symptoms:

  • Nausea 🤢
  • Vomiting 🤮
  • Loss of appetite
  • Stomach pain (mine has been in the upper stomach, but it can be a non-localized Pain)
  • Stomach cramps
  • Overall discomfort and feeling sick 🤢 and not wanting to eat or do anything
    The only good thing ( and I say that lightly) is when you do have abdominal migraines you won’t have a migraine as well, when you have a abdominal migraine attack you won’t have a migraine attack as well they don’t come at the same time. The symptoms of a abdominal migraine completely go away when you have a regular migraine.

It has been a nightmare for me it has taken me three months to finally figure this out and several emergency room visits and a lot of medical bills. Finally I was referred to a GI specialist who is awesome.

I had a EDG test done where they take a camera and look down into your stomach, that’s where they found out that I had gastritis, which takes 6-8 weeks to heal and he also thinks I have abdominal migraines as well.

So my best advice is to get seen by a doctor, and get referred to a GI specialist. It’s a nightmare just to deal with the chronic migraines let a loan to have to deal with abdominal migraines as well.

The best thing you can do is to find the best doctor you can and to treat your symptoms. I can no longer have regular milk, cheese, yogurt. I believe I am lactose intolerant because anytime I have dairy my stomach is super upset so it could be a trigger is what I believe, so again with abdominal migraines you have to find your triggers 🙄


Abdominal migraine Triggers:

  • Dairy products (My trigger)Caffeine Cheese 🧀
  • (this is a big one for me)Chocolate🍫
  • Fruit🍎 🍉
  • Alcohol🍷
  • Preserved meats Foods that are greasy (this is another major trigger for me)


These are just some triggers, and not all of these will trigger you everyone is different and everyone has different triggers you just have to figure out what your triggers are. There may be other foods out there that trigger you but don’t trigger me and foods that trigger me but don’t trigger you etc. You just have to figure out what causes your pain and that goes for your migraines as well. I’ve dealt with chronic migraines for nine years now and I’m still figuring out my triggers. Now that I’ve been diagnosed with abdominal migraines I am now learning and figuring out my triggers again so it’s all new to me.
So in conclusion, if you are suffering like me there are options out there, it took me a long time to figure this out and a lot of doctor visits and a lot of minsdiagnosises, but Now I have a really good doctor, and medications to help me but like my chronic migraines it’s going to be a life long thing that I will have to get used to. I just take it one step and one day at a time.The first step is to see a doctor and figure out your triggers and get on medication if possible.

I’m 33 years old and have been suffering from Chronic Migraines for 7 years. I have had migraines all my life, the first one was when I was in 4th grade, and as I got older they got worse. My migraines turned into chronic migraines 7 years ago and have become so debilitating that I can no longer work or have much of a social life. Bright lights and fluorescent lights are a major trigger, so I have to wear dark sunglasses most of the time. Because of that, I can no longer work, go shopping or be outside for a long time. Over the last 7 years I’ve learned how to live with this disease. Many people don’t understand the pain & sickness because Chronic Migraines are a silent disease. I get migraines 3-4 times a day, I loose my vision, and get very nauseous and confused. The only thing I can do when this happens is take my medications and sleep. I’ve been trying to get disability for 7 years now & had no luck. The problem with this illness is because you can’t see it like a broken arm or leg etc. Everyone thinks it’s not a big deal. Unless you have experienced this, many will never understand. To be honest, I wouldn’t want them to. This disease is a nightmare and wouldn’t want anyone else to go through this. I have suffered so long and am still suffering, that I have depression now. After 7 years I have learned a lot of information and tricks, and that’s what I want to share. My goal is to help others get through this day by day, because I understand what your going through. I understand the excruciating pain, the times where you don’t want to move your head because it feels like a cement block. I understand all the times people have passed you off because they think your exaggerating or being lazy. I understand all those times the doctors have just given up on you. I have had countless tears over the last 7 years. I have a great family and I try and get by with what I have and that’s what’s important. If I could I would start a charity or organization for people with Chronic Migraines so we wouldn’t have to rely on the government when we simply cannot work because the moment we start a job within 10 min we would have a migraine. I sympathize with all of you. I have been through it all. I’ve tried many treatments and medications and tried many natural ways to help. I’ve learned a lot over the last 7 years and I want to share and help others in need as much as I can. I want to share what has worked and what hasn’t, Tricks that make the headaches and migraines get better, and information on migraines and the different types of migraines. My mission is I want to help others that suffer like I do. If I help 1 person that will be enough for me. God Bless
